Iceland - Day Three, South Coast Tour

In Fall 2019, I had the trip of a lifetime: a solo excursion to Iceland! This country is a photographer’s playground. Street photography. Architectural photography. Nature and landscape photography. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing some of my favourite photos from my trip here.

Day three of my trip was a day full of adventure. Early in the morning I was picked up from my hostel for a tour of the south coast of Iceland. Stops included the impressive waterfalls of Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, the town of Vik, and (my favourite place from my whole trip) the stunning black sand beach Reynisfjara.

Iceland - Day One, Reykjavik and Day Two, Horseback Riding

In Fall 2019, I had the trip of a lifetime: a solo excursion to Iceland! This country is a photographer’s playground. Street photography. Architectural photography. Nature and landscape photography. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing some of my favourite photos from my trip here.

My first day was spent exploring the capital city Reykjavik, my main hub for the trip. I stayed at Kex Hostel, a cozy place with views of the harbour and distant mountains. I spent the day exploring the city, going to the top of Hallgrimskirkja and admiring the architecture of Harpa. Some of my favourites of the day include Kolaportið, Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur (I could live off of those hot dogs!), and the Icelandic Punk Museum.

Day two was a more relaxing day. I had the amazing experience of horseback riding through the lava fields. It was my first time horseback riding (when I told them this, they said “Ah, then we will get you Mulda! She is a very good horse!”). If you ever have the joy of going to Iceland, I definitely recommend going for a tour on horseback. It really is a perfect way to see the beautiful landscape.
